Lotsa Squares

An old childhood friend that I don't see much any more is due to have a baby boy soon.

Seeing as I'm so drawn to pinks and florals I had to make a new quilt to post off. I've had this rainbow bundle sitting there for a while waiting for just the 'thing'. I decided this was it and made my squares 3.5, 6.5 and 12.5 inches.

I got the idea from here: http://moderndayquilts.tumblr.com/post/5832184747/one-simple-shape-makes-a-great-quilt-sidewalk

But I just made up my own block sizes and did one less diagonal of large blocks and an extra one of medium.

Yet to choose backing and binding and will probably quilt on the diagonal.

Lone Star Cushion

I got to do a bit of 'finishing off' sewing yesterday. I've had to put stuff aside whilst I worked on bunting for our school fundraiser. That's now completed so I finished off my Lone Star. I turned it into a cushion.

The backing fabric was actually left over from another project. I bought this lily fabric (below) to back this quilt topper I made a few weeks ago. There wasn't enough so I also bought the lighter one to add a strip down each side. This is off to the quilters this week.

Our local photo comp entries were due this week. I entered these pics in the following categories:
